“The Last Jedi” Inspired Cosplay Ideas

1. Rose Tico from “The Last Jedi”

Rose-Tico-Jacket-1
Notice: You can also do generic “Escape Pod Guard” (for a gender neutral version)

Cosplay Essentials

  • A brown, long turtleneck shirt

  • A greenish-yellow military jacket(think WWII style), preferably with places to hold gun bullets on the sides

  • A pair of greenish-yellow military pants(think WWII style)

  • A brown, gun bullet belt

  • A pair of brown or black colored socks(as long as it fits with the character)

  • A pair of brown boots, either hiking or military boots.

DIY Hacks:

For the most part, you can find most of the following pieces above at either your local thrift store(Goodwill, Salvation Army, Bargain Hunt, etc.) and/or Army Ranger Surplus Store.

Otherwise, you can always ask a friend or family member if you can borrow/”borrow” any of their items. Just be sure to return the items once you are finished using them.

Bonus Style Points:

Act like a dry, semi-stereotypical Japanese anime girl with a plain American accent and see where it goes from there.

2. Luke Skywalker(old) from “The Last Jedi”

DIY Hacks:

This Old Luke cosplay is pretty straightforward. If you want to do this cosplay justice, be sure to grow your beard out and don’t wash your hair. You can find temporary beard and hair grey out color at any party or beauty store.

3. Rey from “The Last Jedi”

Star_Wars_The_Last_Jedi_-_Reyy

Cosplay Essentials:

  • A grey outer tunic that you can easily cut to shreds while on the battlefield
  • A black inner tunic that reaches down to the knees
  • A double stranded brown belt that hangs on the right hip of your body(optional)
  • Brown leather boots that reach up to the knees
  • White arm warmers or white cloth that you can easily wrap around your arms without killing the flow of oxygen(otherwise, if you use bandage tape, it could suffocate your arms)
  • Most important aspect, a british accent that alters randomly.

DIY Hacks:

To style Rey's hair, make three ponytails and have each layer on top of one another from the back.

Bonus Style Points:

You’re a wannabe, “Laura Croft: Tomb Raider” girl without even trying to act like Laura Croft.

Chewbacca_TLJ
Tip: Use black face paint or makeup around your real eyes to make mask stand out.

Cosplay Essentals:

  • A brown leather suit with fur glued on top of it
  • Brown boots with brown fur glued on top of them
  • A brown mask with fur glued on top of it.
  • Basically, anything that you can find brown and add glue on should work.

Comfort Hacks:

You can buy a cooling vest and use as many natural fibers as you can to make your costume breathable so you won't get too hot. Be aware however that the vest usually lasts for eight hours on average so either bring a spare or ask someone at the con if they have a cooler to put the vest in.

If you cannot afford the vest, then you can always wrap cooling gel pads in-between your armpits and chest.

Wait how does he keep cool under all that fur, anyway?

2. Young Han Solo from the “Solo: A Star Wars Story” film
